Biblical Reflections In Discipleship God's Word is our manual of discipleship. As we look at the Bible as a whole, what is God's emphasis for discipleship? Do we have a clear picture of what God expects to be the observable fruit of our efforts on earth? Or has the focus on the individual blinded us to the more expansive work of the Body of Christ? In this session we will look at the Table of Contents and see again God's 4000 year emphasis of Scripture on community, all tribes, languages and peoples and "loving our neighbors as ourselves." WORKSHOP The Art of Communicating God's Truth Jesus is the Master communicator and the crowds flocked to hear Him in spite of a hostile environment and lack of media? What were the keys to His communication? How can we learn, not only "from" what He said, but "how" he said it? Whether you are communicating with your spouse, children, workers, church or nations, there are keys in "Jesus Style Communication" that can make you effective and Christlike. We will look at the four tools God gave His Son to teach His audience. Discipling Nations God's Way If we are called to "reach" and "teach" the nations, what does a reached nation and a discipled nation look like? We are the largest most multicultural church in history. How will God measure our effectiveness is fulfilling the task in our generation? We have a fairly good grasp on the challenge of evangelism and reaching the unreached. We will explore the qualitative task of discipling nations and communities. What does God expect beyond the individual fruit of salvation? What is to be the impact of the lives of believers and the work of the Church on the community at large? We will look at eight attributes of God and their application to social responsibility. |
