What Is A Disciplemaking Church?
Disciplemaking is the core mission of the Church. Grounded upon this compelling conviction, this session explores three critical themes. First, ten conventional church values are contrasted with those of an intentional disciplemaking church. Then, eight major defining principles of a disciplemaking church are explored. Moreover, these principles are developmentally traced through three distinct church phases (i.e. disciplemaking as a concept, disciplemaking as an emphasis and disciplemaking as an intentional purpose). Finally, the kingdom of God is captured as a biblical impetus that a true disciplemaking church is called to embrace, by none other than the Master Himself!
Discipleship and Servanthood
Rev Edmund Chan, SINGAPORE
Christian servanthood is one of the most powerful expressions of radical discipleship. Yet many have a distorted view of servanthood. What exactly does the word "servant" mean? Though it is the Christian thing to extol servanthood, however, deep inside we have already formed our impression of the word. We often associate the word "servant" with "inferior", "lowly", "underprivileged" and therefore "undesirable". And because we see servanthood as undesirable, many Christians would not have too much of it. Yet, because it is Christianly to be a servant, we would have some of it just to be respectable. Can you see the hypocrisy? Some of it to be respectable but not all of it to be radical. That is at the heart of the crisis! This plenary session therefore shares four important principles of Christian servanthood in the light of the Scriptures.

Truth and Prayer
This biblical exposition offers a fresh look at Luke 11:1-13. Capitalizing on the disciples’ request, “Lord, teach us to pray,” Jesus went on to teach the greatest lesson ever taught on prayer! Prayer and theology must be integrated because prayer is entirely contingent to who God is. He is, in the teaching of Jesus, the God of the “how much more”! Until we grasp this truth, prayer remains incidental; or at best, supplemental in our lives but it will never become fundamental. For prayer is NOT about us; it’s radically about God!
